What is Grad Night?

Grad Night is a party put on by the senior parents for all graduating seniors of San Mateo High School.

When is it?

It will be on Thursday, June 1, 2017 following the Graduation Ceremony. You will have 60 minutes to visit with your family, take pictures, change your clothes and get lots of hugs before boarding the bus. You will return to the school parking lot at approximately between 3 AM – 4 AM.

Where are we going?

You will be going to a really fun and cool secret location.

What are we going to do there?

Some of previous Grad Nights have included dancing, games, food and many other activities. We plan to do the same this year and MORE!

What is the cost to students?

The senior class parents and students are working extremely hard to raise funds so that the cost to you and your parents could be reduced. Food is included as well as games, activities and transportation. Tickets are $95

Do I need a date?

Grad Night is a casual party open to all SMHS graduating seniors ONLY! It is not necessary to have a date or to buy special clothing for this event.

What should I wear?

It will be a long night, so dress comfortably! Casual attire and flat shoes are recommended. You should bring a jacket. Part of the event is outside.

But don’t I have to dress up for the graduation ceremony?

For the Graduation Ceremony, some students do “dress-up” while others choose the casual route. You will have a chance to change your clothing before we board the buses.

What should I bring?

Bring your photo ID and give everything else to your family. No large handbags or backpacks are allowed. Only small purses.

What should I do with my car?

Leave it in the school parking lot. There will be security monitoring the area all night.

My parents are going to want to know where I am going. What should I tell them?

We have chosen a safe, drug-free and alcohol-free location for this party. As in years past, we have decided to keep it a secret so that it remains a secured location for all attendees.

Do I need to bring my ID card?

Yes, please have your ID card available before boarding the bus. You may save a copy of your ID on your cell phone.

I want to go…now what?

1. Read and complete the waiver form (English or Spanish)

2. Purchase tickets May 15, 17 or 19. Bring cash or a check payable to SMHS PTO/Grad Night 2017 (print student name in memo section). Ticket Price is $95

3. Tickets will be sold during lunch and during Senior Activity Day (May 19) as well as at lunch on May 15 and 17.

4. Final day to purchase tickets will be Friday, May 19th from 9:30-12:00pm during Senior Activities Day.

What bus do I go on?

You will have a chance to choose the bus you go on. The buses are numbered. Talk to your friends now and determine on which bus you want to ride together. HOWEVER, we MUST have your completed student waiver form and payment before we can let you choose your bus. Make sure you and your parents look over the form carefully and fill out all the boxes along with signing all the necessary areas. There is a limited amount of seats on each bus so it will be first-come, first serve basis for sign-ups. You will not be able to reserve seats for your friends or change buses after you select it.

Will there be security check?

Each student will be checked prior to boarding the school bus and prior to entering your secret location.
